XueFei Lu

Born and raised in China, Xuefei has more than 15 years of professional experience in China, France and Canada. Tri-cultural – Asian, European and North-American – she is fluent in Chinese, French and English.

Xuefei has an MBA from Sciences Po Paris and is also an auditor of the IHEDN, l’Institut des Hautes Etudes de Défense Nationale in Paris, where she is the only person of Chinese origin to have ever been admitted.

Before joining ICM, Xuefei worked for 3 years in industry in Canton, 6 years in international trade as general manager of a French company’s representative office in Shanghai, and 6 years in consulting in France and Canada. Her experience in China has given her a solid knowledge of China’s geo-economic diversity, its business particularities and its complex system of enterprises. She helps Western enterprises understand and conquer the Chinese market, from developing a diagnosis to formulating tactics.

Currently Head of Asia, Xuefei leads a team of international consultants specialised in the areas of post-acquisition integration process and cross cultural management training. Xuefei finds viable and realistic solutions for her clients. Her knowledge and success in delivering high-impact values (within a certain timeframe) has brought her a solid reputation for exceptional results. Up to now, the department’s annual business growth has been over 50%.

Xuefei’s team has been following up the integration process of SINOPEC (China Petroleum Corporation), after its acquisitions in Europe, Africa and the Middle-East, through two tools: culture diagnostic surveys and cross cultural seminars. The surveys provide a fully analyzed result of the integration, which helps set up a communication plan and an action plan. Cross cultural seminars bridge the differences between national, corporate and functional cultures (between departments).

ICM Asia has also followed several European multinationals’ post-acquisition integration process in China, for example Steelcase-Ultra (a Chinese furniture company acquired by a British group), Arcelor China (a steel joint-venture owned by France/China/Japan), and EDF China (a Sino-French nuclear joint-venture).

Xuefei is currently responsible for several multinationals’ executive training program focused on China such as, among many others, PricewaterhouseCoopers Europe, automobile group Faurecia, aeronautic group Safran and e-commerce group Redcats, etc. She helps Western managers understand the Chinese cultural, social and business environments, and how to negotiate and work with the Chinese. In this respect, ICM offers tailored consulting services to companies that do business in China.

As an international professional, Xuefei has a results oriented mindset and is able to communicate efficiently with top executives, middle managers or line workers, for the overall benefit of her clients.

She regularly gives conferences and publishes articles on China.

Xuefei works in Chinese, English and French.
