Developing a European Human Resources Network within
the company
The four founding companies of a large European
aeronautical consortium wanted progressively to
create one single company. There were numerous difficulties,
in particular dealing with the cultural dimension.
The professionals from the major support functions
(HR, Communications, Finance, Purchasing, etc) often
worked within national teams, which created barriers
for them when working together in the new entity. |

For these four partners,
ICM put into place the following program :
- An initial needs assessment audit was conducted
- A pilot seminar on managing "remote
teams" and "international functional
networks" was designed
- A seminar was conducted in England with 25
senior managers and HR directors (from Germany,
Spain, France and the United Kingdom), to establish
communication links and set regular meetings
for the immediate future
- The Human Resources Network, initiated at
the seminar, decided how it would function and
has since met regularly in order to ensure coherence
for the progressive integration of the founding
companies.
